Terms

Terms of use

Dataconto is a free introduction service for businesses. These terms cover what we do, what we don't, and what you agree to when you use the site.

Published October 19, 2026. Last checked October 20, 2026

Disclaimer. Dataconto only makes introductions between owners of records or code and potential buyers. It is a free service for businesses and professionals, and you use it at your own risk. We are not a party to any deal and are not responsible for buyers, for any deal you make or don't make, for what happens to your records or code, or for decisions you base on the site. Sections 3 and 10 have the details.

1. Who we are

Dataconto ("we," "us") is operated by Pietro Romeo, sole trader, Italy, VAT IT03173170808. Contact: legal@dataconto.com.

By using the site you agree to these terms. The privacy policy explains what we do with your data. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.

2. For businesses and professionals only

Dataconto is for people acting in a business or professional capacity: owners, officers and representatives of companies, and developers or other professionals who own code. When you ask for an introduction, you confirm you are acting in that capacity and not as a consumer.

3. Our role: introductions only

We publish information about buyers that license business records and private source code for AI training. We run a fit check that compares your answers with the criteria each buyer publishes, and a worth calculator that applies a buyer's published rates to your code. When you ask, we introduce you to the buyers that fit. That is the whole service.

We are only an introducer. We are not your agent, broker, mediator, advisor or representative, and we are not a party to any agreement between you and a buyer. We don't act for you or for the buyer in any negotiation, we don't hold or handle your records or code, and we don't set prices or sign contracts.

We don't vet buyers. We don't check or guarantee a buyer's identity, finances, security, legal compliance, or what it does with your records or code. Checking a buyer before you deal with it is up to you.

4. Information, not advice

Nothing on the site is legal, financial or tax advice. Whether you may license a set of records or code, what that means for the people in them, and what you owe on the proceeds are questions for your own lawyer and accountant.

Figures on buyer pages are the buyers' published figures, with a link and the date we last read them. A buyer can change them without telling us, so they are not quotes or offers. A match in the fit check means only that a buyer's published criteria fit what you described. The buyer decides whether to work with you.

The worth calculator's total is an estimate. It applies a buyer's published rates and counting method to the code you point it at, and the buyer sets the real price after its own review.

5. Introductions

We introduce you to a buyer only after you tick the box asking us to. An introduction means we send your name, email, company name, notes and fit check answers to the buyers your answers fit. From there each buyer deals with you directly.

Any deal, its price, its terms and how it's carried out are between you and the buyer. An introduction doesn't guarantee a reply, an offer or a payment. Some buyers pay us a referral fee when an owner we introduced, or who reached them through a link on our site, closes a deal with them. You pay us nothing. How we get paid explains it.

6. What you confirm

When you ask for an introduction, you confirm that:

  • You are at least 18
  • You own the records or code you describe, or have the authority to license them
  • Your description is accurate
  • Sharing your details with a buyer, and any deal you make, doesn't break a contract, a confidentiality duty or a law that binds you, including data protection law for the people whose data is in your records

Client work, code you forked and records that belong to someone else are not yours to offer here.

7. The worth calculator and your GitHub token

If you give the calculator a GitHub token, use one with read-only access and revoke it when you're done. The token is sent from your browser to GitHub only. You are responsible for the tokens you create and the repositories you point the calculator at.

8. Using the site

You may read, link to and quote the site with a link back. Please don't copy it wholesale, scrape it in bulk, send false requests, or try to get into the admin area or the database.

The text, design and logo belong to us. Buyer names and logos belong to the buyers.

9. Accuracy and changes to the site

Each buyer page shows when we last read the buyer's terms, but it can still contain an error or lag behind a change. If you spot one, write to hello@dataconto.com. We may change or remove content, or stop the service, at any time. Links to buyers lead to sites we don't control, and a link isn't an endorsement.

10. Disclaimer and liability

The site, the fit check, the worth calculator and our introductions are free and provided "as is" and "as available," without any warranty, express or implied. We don't promise that they are accurate, complete, current, uninterrupted or fit for your purpose.

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not responsible or liable for:

  • Anything a buyer does or doesn't do, including how it samples, uses, stores, protects, pays for or deletes your records or code
  • Any deal, its price, its terms, a deal that falls through, or an offer that never comes
  • A buyer changing, pausing or closing its program, or figures and criteria that are wrong or out of date
  • Fit check results and worth calculator totals, and any decision you make based on them or on anything else on the site
  • Whether you have the right to license your records or code, and any legal, tax, employment, privacy or contractual consequence of doing so
  • Your GitHub tokens, your accounts and your data on other services
  • Third-party sites we link to, and services we rely on, such as hosting and email
  • Site errors, downtime, lost data, viruses or security incidents
  • Any direct, indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, including lost profits, revenue, deals, data or goodwill

If we are found liable despite this section, our total liability to you for all claims together is limited to €100.

Italian law (article 1229 of the Civil Code) doesn't let anyone exclude liability for fraud or gross negligence, so this section doesn't cover those.

11. Your responsibility to us

You will indemnify us and hold us harmless against any claim, loss, fine or cost, including reasonable legal fees, brought by a buyer, a person whose data is in your records, a former employer, client or co-owner, or an authority, that arises from records or code you offered, information you gave us, a deal you made, or your breach of these terms.

12. Law and disputes

These terms and any dispute about them or about Dataconto are governed by Italian law. The courts of the operator's place of business in Italy have exclusive jurisdiction.

If something goes wrong, please write to legal@dataconto.com first. We'll try to sort it out within 30 days.

13. Specific approval

Under articles 1341 and 1342 of the Italian Civil Code, when you ask for an introduction you specifically approve these sections: 2 (for businesses and professionals only), 3 (our role: introductions only), 10 (disclaimer and liability), 11 (your responsibility to us) and 12 (law and disputes). The intro form asks for this approval with its own box.

14. Changes to these terms

When these terms change, the date at the top of the page changes with it. The version in place when you used the site applies to that use, and the version you accepted on the intro form applies to that introduction.
